RAF Northolt 'may be sold to property developers'

New plans considered by defence chiefs to help relieve budget shortfalls have cited the possibility of selling off one of the forces' most celebrated airfields - RAF Northolt.

The oldest of the Air Forces' operational bases, Northolt could be sold for hundreds of millions of pounds to developers keen to build on a prime piece of north west London.
