Meet Barcelona Rock: The hotel where climbers sleep on the edge

Fancy spending the night on a ledge 100m up in the middle of Barcelona?
Well, if plans for a new hotel for climbers called Barcelona Rock go ahead, you can.
Polish firm UGO came up with the idea in response to the Barcelona 2011 Bohemian Hostel for Backpackers International Competition, according to the Daily Mail.
The proposed building would have an extremely unique exterior made of rocks so that experienced climbers can spend the night out using harnesses.

The elevation would be made of stone blocks, four metres high each, mounted on stilts of reinforced concrete.
UGO boss Hugon Kowalski said he wants the building to become a "new symbol for Barcelona".
He said inspiration for the building came from the nearby mountain range of Montserrat, and that he wanted the building to look like part of a mountain.

Mr Kowalski added: "There's a swimming pool, spa, gym, cinema, pub, shops and climbing walls for beginners.
"The outer elevation of the hotel forms climbing walls for more advanced climbers, who can spend the night there using special equipment.
"We hope the hostel will become a symbol of the city as Ayers Rock is for Australia."
