Tropical cyclone Grant is wreaking havoc in Australia's Northern Territory, disrupting transport, derailing a train, and causing a bridge to collapse.

Two train drivers were rescued after a Darwin-bound freight train carrying toxic chemicals came off the track as a bridge collapsed on the Edith River.

Tourists and locals have been warned to be on the lookout for crocodiles in the swollen waters, while dozens of people have been left stranded on their roofs, according to the Telegraph.

The flooding has also caused travel delays, with the train derailment leaving 200 passengers travelling on a Great Southern Rail service stuck behind it.

The passengers were removed from the train and continued their journey by coach, reports news.com.au.
