More than 8,000 runners dressed as Father Christmas took to the streets of Liverpool this weekend as part of the city's annual Santa Dash.

The purpose? To beat the world record for people dressed as Santa running in the street.
While most FCs were dressed in Santa's traditional red and white outfit, some chose a blue version to show their allegiance to their football team, Everton FC.

This is the eighth year the people of Liverpool have taken to the streets in festive outfits. Last year's charity run won the World Santa League Challenge for having the most participants, beating Las Vegas by 2,000.
