Minister dismisses student debt worries

The next generation of students will come to understand the full burden of debt in a way that few people of previous generations could ever appreciate. Debts of £70,000 are of the kind of order few can contemplate ever being able to pay off.

However, David Willetts, universities minister, has waived his hand and dismissed the problem as being all in the mind.
