Gordon Murray's T.27 electric car manages 350mpg

Updated

At last weekend's RAC Future Car Challenge Gordon Murray did very well for himself. His all-electric T.27 city car won three awards: 'Most Energy Efficient Small Car (Prototype)', 'Best Overall Pure Electric Vehicle' and 'Best Overall Entry – RAC Future Car Challenge Winner'. All of which are well deserved because it appears Murray has made a truly clever electric car.

Over the Future Car Challenge's 57.13 mile route from Brighton to London the T.27 used just 64 pence worth of electricity, giving it an equivalent mpg of 350, and emitting just 37g/km CO2 over the drive.
