MPs ignore the rules and still employ family members

At the time the report into the MPs' expenses scandal came out, one of its key recommendations seemed pretty clear: Our elected officials were told there should be a ban on them employing members of their families.

No ifs, no buts, just a straightforward 'Don't do it'.

But two years down the line and there are still more than 100 MPs ignoring the edict – 59 Tories, 53 Labour and seven Lib Dems. You have to ask why they should consider themselves the exception to the rule.
