80mph limit back on the agenda

The government is planning to raise the speed limit to 80mph because it's thought it will shorten journey times and, in turn, boost the economy.

Raising the national speed limit is never far from the top of the motoring agenda, but now it seems it could become a reality. The Daily Mail reports it will be discussed at the next Conservative Party Conference, starting Sunday 2 October in Manchester.
