Pensioner Mercedes driver has lucky escape

A retired school teacher from Plymouth is counting his lucky stars after ploughing his Mercedes C280 through his garage and falling six feet into his back garden.

Donald Lambdin, 90, who had just returned home with his wife and was reversing the saloon car into the garage, accidently hit the throttle instead of the brake and before he knew it he had written off the car and garage.
