Supermarket giant Tesco are one step closer to shopping domination today after launching an online used car service yesterday. The internet-only service aims to grab a slice of the £24 billion motoring market... and they'll even deliver to your door.

The site hopes to advertise 3,000 ex-source and lease cars each week and claims every vehicle will be put through a rigorous independent RAC inspection.
Andrew Higginson, chief executive of retailing services for Tesco, told the Daily Mail: "By supplying directly to customers, there is no middle man, no expensive showroom and no salespeople on commission. There's no pressure, no hard sell."
The proposed RAC inspection will put cars through a 167-point check, including a ramp inspection and road test, which Tesco hope will put customer's minds at ease as they choose their sight-unseen motor and buyers can search the site according to budget, lifestyle and motoring needs.
Clubcard holders get the added incentive of 2,000 points if they buy from the site and should your purchase not meet your expectations, the company is offering a seven day, money-back-guarantee.
Mr Higginson added: "You can select and buy your car from the comfort of your own home and, just like your weekly shop, we will even deliver it to your front door."
Of course, with Tesco already offering online grocery shopping, financial services, electricals, music downloads and furniture (all delivered to your home) there may soon be no need for a car at all.
