Beautiful bowls

It's fair to say the standard pet bowl is not a thing of beauty. But Hing pet bowls (£19.99) have provided a funky alternative for your dog or cat. Their range of bone-shaped holders (with removable steel bowls) have non-slip feet, are easy to clean and stylish feeder for small dogs and come in a fabulous range of bright colours, such as lime green and orange. Meanwhile cats can finally eat from a bowl to be proud of with the fish-shaped option.

For larger dogs, the Wetnoz Urban Bowl (also £19.99) is equally stylish with its pill-shaped design - perfect for hungry hounds. Particularly special pooches though, may prefer a designer bowl - thankfully Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier have teamed up to create a series of bowls for your four-legged friend, featuring a synthetic leather outer for easy cleaning.

Best beds
If your dog is a bit of a diva, a plush place to sleep is essential. Treat them to a Puchi Sheepy Bed (from £95) - it may look like a standard dog bed but Fido can relax safe in the knowledge that the bed is made from 100 per cent natural Merino wool, backed with faux suede.

Dogs who prefer a more traditional look may prefer the Wallace & Jones Oxford design (£119). This stitched faux leather sofa-style bed comes with wooden feet (so no drafty floor), a strong wooden frame for the heavier hounds and a faux suede interior for extra comfort.

Of course, cats make sleeping into an art form and, despite their reputation for sleeping anywhere, a Teepee Cat Bed (£30.44) should encourage any feline to fall asleep. With plush and faux suede interior, the heavy corduroy exterior provides extra warmth and the flap can be left open or gently folded down for extra privacy.

If you want to go all out to impress though, you can't Wowbow's range of pet beds. Their Mija beds (£1,200) for dogs are the ultimate in contemporary pet bed design - crafted from 10mm thick acrylic they are the ultimate in chic luxury and Rover will have no complaints about the faux suede-covered, shredded memory foam cushion.

Cats haven't gone unnoticed by this luxury brand either - the Loulie bed features the same comfy cushion as the Mija dog bed but with the added extra of a sheepskin top. And the acrylic block means your cat can survey the area from on high.

Four-legged fashionistas
Pet clothing is big business these days and that means even your four-legged friend can be fashion forward. Puchi's range of designer wear features a stylish Military Coat (from £40), a cosy Nosy Dog Parka (£41) complete with body warmer or even a Pac-A-Mac for any unexpected April showers.

And lastly, for that all-important personal touch, Prince and Princess Petwear allow loving owners to personally design their very own hand-knitted jumper for dogs or cats, priced at just £16.
