Pothole hotline gets 5,000 calls in 10 weeks

Updated

A 24-hour hotline set up by Plymouth council to allow irate locals to report pothole problems has received over 5,000 calls in 10 weeks – that's one every 20 minutes day and night.

Potholes could be a major campaign issue in the upcoming local elections in May, and authorities will be keen to do everything they can to placate angry motorists.
