TV viewers face festive film re-runs this Christmas
As you settle down on the sofa with a glass of wine and a belly heavy with Christmas pud, you may find yourself experiencing a strange sense of déja vu.

In fact, if you get the feeling that you've seen it all before as the festive films begin, it's no surprise - this year's seasonal schedule includes 533 movies... 517 of which are repeats.
Research commissioned by DVD rental service LoveFilm revealed that a whopping 97 per cent of movies on TV over Christmas are re-runs.
From Christmas Eve to Boxing Day, terrestrial and satellite TV will show just 16 movie premieres - that's down by 30 per cent on last year.
And on Christmas Day itself, just two premieres will be hitting the small screen.
In total, the Crimbo terrestrial TV schedule includes 860 hours of repeated TV shows and movies, which leaves many wondering whether they are really getting their money's worth from broadcasters.
However, cable and satellite broadcasters' premiere record is even worse - while 83 per cent of festive films on terrestrial will be repeats, satellite viewers can expect 99 per cent of their movies to be old.
So, while Shrek The Third, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Cars, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Stranger Than Fiction will be new to TV, those old favourites Mary Poppins, ET and Love Actually will once again be gracing the small screen.
Time for a post-Christmas dinner nap, perhaps.
