Free drink for the designated driver this Christmas

It's not much fun being the designated driver at Christmas, but it seems this year there is at least one thing to look forward to if you're the unlucky soul left holding the car keys.

Around 8,000 of the nation's pubs are taking part in a government initiative to offer drivers a buy one, get one free deal on soft drinks.
