Thirty-hour sit-in protest beats the clampers

As the government is set to announce that clamping vehicles on private land is to be outlawed, a couple of welcome examples of the motorist fighting back against the clampers have emerged.

A driver waged a personal battle against the firm that clamped his Toyota Prius by staging a 30-hour sit-in. Haroon Zafaryab, 27, returned from his mosque in Wembley, North London last week to discover clampers demanding a £100 fine and a £265 charge for towing his car.
