British Grand Prix

Updated

The British Grand Prix is held at Silverstone racetrack. Along with the Italian circuit, it's the oldest continuously staged Formula One World Championship Grands Prix. While not being as glamorous and exotic as some of the the other Grand Prix locations, the beauty of the British Grand Prix is that it's right on your doorstep! Instead of watching the F1 cars speeding by on your TV screen, you can witness for yourself Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton gunning around the track at top speeds.

If you haven't got tickets for this year's British GP, there are still some available through ticket agents and classified adverts. And if you're a Formula One fan you should really try your best to make it because this year will be the last time the event is hosted at Silverstone. On account of disputes between the owners of Silverstone and the Formula One authorities, the British Grand Prix will be moving as of next year.

Donington Park won the contract to host the event from 2010 onwards. However, legal issues have arisen meaning that there are doubts as to whether Donington will be able to host the race. If this turns out to be the case, there will be no British Grand Prix next year at all! Would you be sorry to see Britain left out of the Grand Prix circuit? Leave a comment and share your thoughts.
