Want to buy a pet?
Are you an animal lover? I definitely am, and I think Britain in general is very much a pet-loving country. The majority of households have a pet of some sort - a cat, dog, budgie, guinea pig, rabbit or goldfish. Owning a pet can be extremely rewarding; they make brilliant companions and even, apparently, can help to cure the winter blues. According to a recent study, a few cuddles from a cat can overcome Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is surely a purrfect reason to buy one. (Sorry! I couldn't help myself.)
If you don't own a pet and would love to buy one, or if you already have one and want to add to your menagerie, an excellent place to find your new friend is through AOL Classified adverts. There you can find breeders selling puppies and kittens or older animals needing new homes since their owners are moving. You can search through different pets by type of animal, breed and age. By far the most popular animals to be found on AOL Classifieds are Staffordshire Bull Terriers, followed by Chihuahuas, which only goes to show the incredible variety of dogs British people love!
Personally, I am more of a cat person and looking through AOL Classifieds I can see a few hundred kittens I would love to buy! I would also love to own a horse but without several acres of land at my disposal it's probably not going to happen. If you are in a position to buy a horse you will find plenty to choose from as well as any equipment your new horse will require - and they do require an awful lot of accessories such as horse blankets, tack, grooming equipment and lead ropes - owning a horse is quite a commitment!
If you are looking for something a little smaller, how about a chinchilla? They're unbelievably soft and very cute, and watching them take their sand baths (because water clogs their thick fur) is really entertaining. Or perhaps, since it's nearly Easter, a rabbit? Being a pet owner is a big responsibility and although not all animals require as many accessories as a horse, you still need to buy various pet supplies. Animals need to be groomed regularly or their fur can become matted, nails should be trimmed with claw clippers and of course you need to feed your animal with the right kind of pet food. On AOL Classifieds you can search for cages and tanks to home your small pets, baskets and beds for your cats and dogs to sleep in and even horse boxes for transporting your pony to shows.
You may enjoy pampering your pet by buying them tasty treats, but a really great way to show how much you love your furry friend is by taking them to an animal grooming service. For example, if you're going on holiday and have no one to check in on your pet, there are many animal boarding companies who will make sure your pet is looked after while you're gone. You can also find dog walking services, in case you don't have enough time to do it yourself, and obediance schools too, because sometimes pets can be badly behaved!
What if you are an animal lover but for some reason you can't own a pet? Well, it's not quite the same but you could search the classified adverts for animal collectibles. If you are a keen collector of animal-themed collectibles then you will be able to find a good selection of paintings of animals, porcelain dogs, cats and horses and lots more ornaments and photographs.
