The weekend seems to whizz by so quickly and then it's Monday again, but at least the Hot Searches blog is here to give you an update on what the world is searching for today!

The Carling Cup Final took place yesterday at Wembley Stadium with the undefeated Manchester United facing Tottenham Hotspur. After a goalless match, the game was taken into the keeper's, Heurelho Gomes and Ben Foster, hands and United trounced Spurs 4-1 in penalties, taking home their second trophy of the season.

Keeping to the sports theme, the RBS Six Nations cup continued on Saturday with Scotland playing Italy and Ireland facing England. Scotland had a resounding victory over the Italians, winning by 26-6. England's game was a tense one with Ireland leading from the outset, but the English team brought their final score up to a respectable 14-13 to Ireland.

House prices remain a hot topic as they continue to fall - currently they are 10% lower than they were last year, although the number of new buyers signing up with estate agents is on the increase and sales across the country rose in the last month. However, experts are warning that the slump is far from over yet.

Today was the UK premiere of Marley & Me, which is based on a book of the same name. The film is about a boisterous dog, Marley, and his family and the lessons in life that he teaches them, and stars Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston and about 22 different labrador dogs to play Marley!

Sunday was St. David's Day, the patron saint of Wales. Every year on this day there are parades held in Wales, the largest of these being in Cardiff and in Swansea there was a St. David's Week festival with music, sports and various entertainments. Leeks and daffodils are worn to celebrate the day as these are patriotic symbols.

Red Nose Day is approaching and this year's catchphrase is 'do something funny for money'. In order to raise funds, a group of celebrities have comitted to climbing up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. After just 2 days of climbing, Denise Van Outen managed to snap one of her climbing poles, and poor Alesha Dixon took a tumble while answering the call of nature! She didn't fall far though and was unhurt, but perhaps a little embarrassed!
